Chapter One – Julian Meets Rhonda

Julian never had much luck with love. He considered himself a hopeless romantic. He was in love with the idea of love. The very idea of doing something romantic for his girlfriend was enough to put him a great mood for the rest of the day. This usually meant he would fall for someone quickly, which ultimately created additional challenges for him.

While Julian was by no means a supermodel, he was a decent looking guy. He stood tall, just over six feet. With his black hair and piercing green eyes, he made up for being slightly overweight by his above average facial features. He had just recently got out of a relationship that hadn’t ended well. Despite the fact that he had not succeeded with multiple previous relationships, he was not dissuaded.

Julian was an actor by trade. During a rehearsal a friend suggested a blind date. Julian had never gone on a blind date before, but the idea intrigued him. He also thought this could be the perfect way to get his mind off his recent, failed, relationship.

It was settled. He went home in anticipation of who he would meet tonight. Would this be a waste of time, or could she be the one?

After getting ready, Julian headed to the nearby wine bar where he was to meet his blind date. He arrived shortly after six in the evening and did a quick look around the small wine bar. There was hardly anyone around, and he was sure none of them were who he was supposed to meet since they all seemed to be employees of the wine bar. Julian decided to order a drink and start perusing the various pieces of art displayed.

A short time had passed and Julian decided to find a seat at a table. He then saw a woman come in. She was tall, almost as tall as he was himself. She also had dark hair, about shoulder length. While most people may have not noticed, Julian noticed her posture was immaculate. Julian continued to watch her to see if it looked like she was looking for someone.

It didn’t take long for her to spot Julian and approach him. “Hello” she said. “Are you waiting for someone?” Julian replied, “Yes”. She then said “My name is Rhonda, are you Julian?” Apparently, our mutual friend had told her my name, but neglected to tell me hers. I nodded in agreement and offered for her to sit.

After I got her seated I offered to get her a drink. She agreed and requested I surprise her. I got her a Framboise from the bar. We sat and talked for hours. Everything was clearly going very well. By the end of our first date, she mentioned she had planned a movie night with our mutual friend already and invited me. I accepted and we parted ways for the night.

Chapter Two – Movie Night

Julian arrived at Rhonda’s house for movie night. He was excited for it as he was certain the first date had gone well. He was even more certain of this when Rhonda greeted him and was practically floating with happiness.

Their mutual friend, Shawna, was already there sitting on the couch eating popcorn. Almost immediately after Julian arrived they started the movie. The night went on rather uneventfully until the end of the movie when Shawna mentioned she had to work the following day. She then left and it was just Rhonda and Julian.
